Country-Based Business Development

We ensure the foundations of First Nations Country-based businesses are solid.

First Nations organisations are increasingly starting Country-based businesses and operations – from Aboriginal cultural heritage management, land and water management, eco and cultural tourism, environmental services contracting and community engagement and development initiatives.

Our Country-Based Business Development services advise and support these First Nations businesses to grow from strong foundations.

Whole-of-Country Planning

We support First Nations people and organisations to establish plans built on powerful statements of their identity, connection and intentions for the future of their community and Country. Plans can be built at whatever scale and breadth as decided by each community.

Our Whole-of-Country Planning services create plans that speak to cultural, social, economic and environmental outcomes and actions. Whole-of-Country Plans establish clear opportunities for Government and non-Government entities to consider how they partner with First Nations communities – on First Nations Peoples’ terms, ways of doing and being.

Cultural Values Mapping

Cultural Values Mapping is an important part of Whole-of-Country Planning but can also stand on its own as a powerful tool for First Nations people and land management agencies and authorities (led by First Nations people).

Cultural Values Mapping ensures that any decisions made for Country are fully informed and driven by values-based decisions.

Country-Based Partnerships

Our team are experts in supporting and facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships between First Nations businesses and Government and non-Government agencies.

Government and non-Government agencies are increasingly realising the value of investing in partnerships with First Nations businesses, particularly in Country-based sectors such as land and water management, environment and statutory planning, placemaking and community health and wellbeing, emergency management and the tourism and visitor economy.

Our team enable and facilitate these partnerships, ensuring opportunities are strategic, long lasting and built on agreement making that is culturally competent, respectful and balanced.

“On-Country Solutions provided exceptional multifaceted support that ensured we achieved our required outcomes. They assisted with the planning, delivery and facilitation of our engagement event, as well as consolidation and drafting of outcomes and formal responses based on community-led decision making and discussions. Importantly they consolidated detailed and complex dialogue in a way that articulated community sentiments and opinions.”

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the privilege of working on Country when invited to do so. We pay our respects to Elders and community leaders, and those leaders who came before us, who for millennia have maintained the world’s oldest surviving cultures and who have made it possible for us to do what we do. We acknowledge the strength and innovation of our young people, the leaders and Elders of the future.

We also pay respect to the non-First Nation people we work with who share our vision for an empowered, prosperous and culturally assured First Nations Australia.
