Some of Our Projects
Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owner Aboriginal Corporation (GMTOAC)
In August and September 2023 OCS supported Gunditjmarra Traditional Owners to develop their position on a proposal to build offshore power generating wind turbines in their Sea Country. Our support included facilitating a GMTOAC Renewable Energy Symposium in Hamilton, Victoria and assisting in drafting a position statement for GMTOAC to present to the federal Minister.
Nowra Bypass cultural values mapping project – Transport for NSW
OCS has been engaged by Transport for NSW to spend time with the Aboriginal community of the Nowra/Bomaderry area to better understand the socio-cultural values of the Bypass study area. OCS will develop GIS StoryMaps layers and support the creation of associated cultural expressions in art and language where approved by knowledge holders.
‘Yalwal’ Aboriginal Land Claim Partnership Project – Regional NSW
Regional NSW is leading an initiative that brings all relevant Government agencies to the table to support the responsible transfer of a large parcel of land to Nowra Local Aboriginal Land Council under the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act. OCS is project managing this initiative, working closely with Nowra LALC and Regional NSW to ensure that the land transfer is done along with the appropriate due diligence, management resourcing, and ongoing relationships that will support the aspirations of the Aboriginal community.
Western Bundjalung Traditional Owners (Ngullingah Jugun Aboriginal Corporation)
OCS is supporting the Ngullingah Jugun Aboriginal Corporation (NJAC) to continue its development as a sustainable Country-based business. NJAC has engaged OCS to facilitate the development of a Business Establishment Plan, Whole of Country Plan and the establishment of a work centre and Healthy Country Ranger team over the next 12-18 months. This work will also see OCS supporting NJAC to develop partnership and commercial agreements with government and corporate entities.

How we work
On Country Solutions is a majority First Nations owned and led consultancy that places culture, dignity and respect at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to mutually beneficial, strategic and enduring outcomes for First Nations communities and their Country.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the privilege of working on Country when invited to do so. We pay our respects to Elders and community leaders, and those leaders who came before us, who for millennia have maintained the world’s oldest surviving cultures and who have made it possible for us to do what we do. We acknowledge the strength and innovation of our young people, the leaders and Elders of the future.
We also pay respect to the non-First Nation people we work with who share our vision for an empowered, prosperous and culturally assured First Nations Australia.
